Congratulations to Steven Sponenberg, D.D.S. on being voted February’s Athlete of the Month!! Otherwise known as “the strongest man in the gym”, aka “Hercules”, this soft spoken giant can be seen at the 6am time period or with the late afternoon crowd, but he always seems to extract some time to fit in his workout! Thank you Steve for your continued progress and support!!!!
What did you do before joining MTS in regards to working out?
Worked out with another trainer 3 days per week, Crossfit before that.
How long have you been with MTS?
4 1/2 years.
What’s your favorite workout/exercise at MTS?
Fridays – chest & arms.
What’s your least favorite workout/exercise at MTS?
Cardio days – AMRAPs.
How is MTS different than other methods of training you may have tried in the past?
There is a real camaraderie among the people there. Not a competitive atmosphere, which helps keep injuries at a minimum (not like Crossfit).
How has MTS helped you attain your fitness goals or athletic endeavors?
They have helped motivate me to work out 4-5 days per week. I feel really bad when I don’t make it in there.
What’s your favorite cheat meal/snack?
BBW, any kind of chips.
Advice to those just starting out?
Work through the soreness. It won’t completely go away, but it will get better.
